One Day Conference, One Chance to Go the Extra!
UNLV Collegiate DECA and Nevada DECA will be coordinating the 2026 Las Vegas DECA Competition Academy to allow high school members and advisors an opportunity to be trained for competition, practice role play scenarios, and receive interactive judge feedback.

Some details to keep in mind:
– Students can choose any roleplay to compete in.
– Additional workshops focused on competition will be offered
– All students will be required to take an online practice exam (20 questions in 20 minutes)
– Additional medal awarded to the top 3 competitors in each category

Competition Academy Trophy

In 2022, we announced the start of the Competition Academy Trophy that’s awarded to the chapter who scored the highest at the Las Vegas Competition Academy.
This year, the scoring criteria per member of a chapter is:
- 10 pts for scoring 80+ on the quiz
- 20 pts for scoring 70+ on the role play

How to register & pay
- Advisors: Download the documents below, complete your roster, and email to deca@unlv.edu.
- Check-in & payment: On the event day, go to the AEB registration table to pay your invoice and pick up your chapter welcome package.
- Important: Students will not receive event materials without prior approval.
- Please do NOT mail payment to UNLV DECA.
- Group discount: 20% off for chapters with 15+ participants.
If you are signing-up on your own, you’re at the right section! Individual registration is $30 that can be paid via cash, credit card, checks, and any other formats of payment. Please click on the button below to complete your registration for Las Vegas Competition Academy. Deadline to register is Midnight on Monday, January 5th.
Advisors can bulk sign-up their members through this section. Each student registration is $30. We will send an invoice to you after receiving your registration. Deadline to register is 5 PM on Wednesday, January 7th.
ATTENDING THE COMPETITION ACADEMY?
Here are a few tips to help you through the day.
- Come dressed to impress! Blazers are highly recommended but not required
- Bring all your competitive event materials with you
- Mobile Devices are highly encouraged in all sessions but must be on silence
- If you are not competing you should be attending a session, NO EXCUSES!
- All sessions will be in AEB 130, DO NOT leave this area without advisor approval

Frequently Asked Questions
Students can register for one case study event (individual or team event). If you are planning to compete in a prepared event, there is an option to schedule a consultation time in December.
$30 per student, includes competition registration, workshop materials, lunch, professional headshot, and awards. Advisors/chaperones: free.
No cancellations after the final deadline.
Substitutions only; no refunds.
No. This academy is for practice only. It simulates the Nevada DECA State Career Development Conference to help you gauge your readiness. Official Nevada DECA qualification rules are enforced at SCDC, not here.

- Awards are not traditional 1st/2nd/3rd placements (see awards below)
Competitors with a combined score of 70+ in their event receive a DECA medallion on stage. Top 3 in each category receive an additional medallion.
