Founded in 2012, our collegiate DECA chapter has grown into a thriving community, empowering students to achieve personal and professional excellence. Over the years, our chapter has created opportunities for members to develop leadership skills, refine career aspirations, and achieve their goals. This legacy of growth and success continues to flourish thanks to the dedication and contributions of its members.
Our Mission
Our mission at UNLV Collegiate DECA is to prepare students from all majors to become leaders and innovators in business, marketing, finance, hospitality, and entrepreneurship. We provide hands-on experiences through competitions, networking, and professional development that connect classroom learning to real-world success.
Our Story
DECA was founded in 1946 with one high school and one college division, and has since grown to over 200 collegiate chapters worldwide. UNLV Collegiate DECA was established in 2012 and, as of 2024, is the only collegiate chapter in Nevada. Since 2014, our members have earned 44 international awards, 131 Leadership Passport Awards, and 94 finalist medals and plaques at ICDC. In 2024, we made history with two members elected as National DECA Officers. From a new chapter on campus to a nationally recognized team, UNLV Collegiate DECA continues to prepare Rebels to lead in business, marketing, hospitality, finance, and entrepreneurship.
