Be A Judge

One of the main purposes of the Nevada DECA Las Vegas Fall Leadership Conference is to provide competitive event practice through practice role play scenarios and judge’s feedback. Achieving this purpose would not be possible without the support and time of our community members. Our students are passionate and eager to learn everything they can about their chosen industry track and would love to hear your expertise about the business world. Help us shape the future leader’s of tomorrow and register to be a judge for our upcoming competition.

Frequently Asked Questions

As a judge, you would be given a “role-play scenario” for that event category. Each judge will see up to 10 students and hear their presentation. These presentations will be timed by an event coordinator and the time will include scenario questions provided in the role-play. At the end of each presentation, the student will leave and you will be allowed time to score the student and provide feedback.

At the end of the competition (noon) and after lunch (1 PM), you will be able to give feedback and your unique perspective during the “Learn from the Pros” session. The student will be given all their score sheets and feedback at the end of the day so we encourage you to be as detailed as possible. More information on judging will be provided during the judges briefing at the competition.

Some judges will also be paired with our prepared event competitors to review their event materials and offer any advice on their specific event topic. All judges will receive their competitive event assignment during the orientation at 9:00 AM on the day of the event.

Judges would need to arrive at the Texas Station Dallas Ballroom D, E, and H by 9:00 am on Saturday, December 7th for the Judge’s Orientation. All competitive events should be completed by 12:00 pm. Please plan to stay for lunch at noon followed by the “Learn from the Pros’ session, which will conclude by 1:30 PM.
