About the Las Vegas Competition Academy
Since 2014….
The Las Vegas Competition Academy’s focus is to provide high school students an opportunity to practice before the State Conference. Students who score 70+ will be recognized with a medal and additional recognition is provided to those show score in top 3 of their event. This event has transformed to provide an opportunity for chapters and individuals to showcase their readiness for the State Conference.
Students who participate in the Las Vegas Competition Academy will have an opportunity to be judged by an industry professional and receive generalized feedback used in Collegiate DECA called “Learn from the Pros”. This is a unique opportunity for students to practice and hone their skills for State Conference.
What’s New This Year
We are excited to announce the following changes:
Workshops will be presented by former high school and/or Collegiate DECA competitors who have competed at ICDC.
All attendees will receive access to two UNLV DECA created 20 min – 20 question quizzes after the event.
Advisors and attendees will be emailed the judges results including the in-person quiz scoring breakdown.
There will be no in-person prepared event consultation. Students will have an option to sign-up for a virtual consultation to be scheduled in December.
