Jamie Hillen is what most would consider a true “DECA DORK”. She started her journey in the Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) world as a high school state officer for Colorado FCCLA. While attending Johnson & Wales University in Denver, Colorado she became active n DECA. After attending her first ICDC (International Career Development Conference) she knew that DECA was something that drove her passions and that she wanted to help others succeed. She served as her chapter Vice President of Competition (2008-2009) and the national Western Region Vice President (2008-2009). Jamie has also placed as a finalist at ICDC in Restaurant and Food Service Management two consecutive years. When she is not being involved as an active DECA alumni, she is working as an Administrative Assistant for two career representative’s at Country Financial (insurance & investments). Jamie’s hobbies also include developing new recipes, creating business plans, learning new marketing skills/trends, traveling, experiencing new cultures, and observing anything artistic. As UNLV Collegiate DECA’s adviser she is honored to be a part of the legacy of this chapter creating on a local, state and national level. She is always open to a conversation so please feel free and don’t be a stranger.
